JAGGED EDGE
Reclaimed yet refined. Inspired by end cuts of teak wood from one of the manufacturers we work with in Indonesia. We take long spans of irregular scraps and plane them smooth and squared off. A vegetable dye is rubbed on my hand to give it a deep finish. There is a play between what are inherently irregular cuts of wood that are carefully and resolutely joined together. Order from chaos...or something like that, right? The coffee table measures 48x34x16"h, and the console measures 66x16x34"h. The console is reminiscent of a stage with a grand curtain, ready to show off vases or sculptures you've collected over the years.
